The Bayerische Philharmonie invites MING to a special German-American classical concert celebrating the debut of a new partnership between the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bayerische Philharmonie.  The first part of this concert features the American guest conductor Laurence Golan with musicians from the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra performing together with musicians from the Symphonie Orchestra of the Bayerische Philharmonie.  They will perform the “Magnificat” from Franz Schubert.  Following the “Magnificat” you will hear the choir of the Bayerische Philharmonie performing “Prayers Without Words” presented by the American composer Laurence Traiger.

During the second part of this concert evening, the Bayerische Philharmonie will perform a composition of Mozart’s “Requiem.”  In a most beautiful, dark, menacing and mysterious, way, Mozart's last, still unfinished work leaves us today with many questions. The music of the "Requiem" bears tremendous intensity. The unusual circumstances of the composition and the temporal context of the requiem mass with Mozart's early death have inspired myth-making.  This mystery will make this autumn evening  a powerful and intense experience, one featuring soloists (soprano) Carmela Konrad, Ulrike Andersen (alt), Andreas Weller (tenor) and Alexander Kiechle (bass), as well as the choir and Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Philharmonic under the direction of Mark Mast.

As a special treat for the MING guests, you can participate in a concert introduction with the conductors in German and English language which will take place about an hour before the concert begins.
