Transatlantic relations are a cornerstone of foreign policy. Economically the EU and the United States are the most interdependent regions worldwide. Hollywood's blockbusters run in each cinema.

Numerous connections between the two countries have evolved since the end of the Second World War. The America Haus facilities in Germany were key instruments of American foreign cultural and information policy and are still important America-related locations in Germany.

The Amerika Haus in Munich is the largest institution in Germany, devoted to the care of transatlantic relations today. Managing Director Dr. Meike Zwingenberger will present the history, todays varied activities and tasks, as well as plans for the future of the America Haus.
