Our tour:  Approx. 38 kilometers of gentle terrain with approx. two climbs. We will start at the clear blue Riegsee lake, ride up to Hagen where a stunning mountain view awaits us, ride down to Murnau, walk our bikes through the charming pedestrian zone, peek into the Griesbräu brewery and walk past the Karg brewery house, view the Expressionist paintings in the Schlossmuseum (for non-art enthusiasts: you can enjoy the Murnau pedestrian zone in the meantime), ride past the house where Gabriele Münter and Wassily Kandinsky once lived and where they met with the other artists of the Blue Rider movement.

Afterwards we will ride through the Murnau Moos bog area and over to the Staffelsee lake, along the lake shore with awesome scenery to the Alpenblick beer garden on the lake shore in Uffing. Here, we will stop to refresh. There is also a small beach next door where we can go swimming. From there we ride back to Riegsee with gorgeous views of the Riegsee lake and the Alps.

Please note:

  1. Participation is at own risk.
  2. Make sure to bring a 1 liter bottle of something to drink and a snack.
  3. If you plan to use your own bike and would like to take the train to Murnau, the tour can pass by the Murnau Bahnhof around 1100.  If so, please inform Monika Roehl ASAP.  FYI - train departs Munich Hbf at 0932, arrives in Murnau at 1027.
  4. Guests are welcome!
