In Michael Valenine-Urbschat’s 27 Mar 13 presentation to AGBC Munich, he discussed the principal issues related to “Tackling the 2030 Carbon Footprint Challenge” and compared approaches for both Munich and Los Angeles.

In the meantime, he has completed his first novel on electric mobility and is consulting leading technology firms and communities on the latest electric mobility developments.  At our September monthly meeting, he will outline his newest insights (1) from the German government conference on electric mobility, (2) on local activities initiated by the municipality of Munich, and (3) on the latest global developments.   In doing so, he will provide us a comprehensive update on not only the prospects for accelerating the introduction of electric vehicles in the Munich metropolitan area but also on what still needs to be done if Munich truly wants to become a global success story in this field.

Michael Valentine-Urbschat is co-author of Elektrisiert (2014 novel about the global electric vehicle industry) and Senior Advisor for P3 Group, a global management consultancy with headquarters in Aachen and a major regional office in Munich. P3’s focus is on the automotive, energy, aerospace, and telecommunications industries. Trained as an aeronautical engineer, Michael has been a leading manager in the automobile industry for many years. While at BMW in the 90’s, he was involved in their initial development efforts with electric vehicles before advancing into the development of conventional drive trains where he was responsible for large engine projects. Afterwards, as a partner with Roland Berger, he participated in the development of world-wide consulting activities, concentrating on electrical mobility and the development of appropriate conversion concepts for transitioning from conventional drive trains to those featuring electrical mobility. From 2010-13 he was responsible for Siemens’ re-entrance into the automobile supplier business with exclusive focus on electrical drive trains, before joining P3 Group in 2014.
