Social Impact Recruiting (SIR - www.si-recruiting.org) is looking help to teach refugees basic PC skills (e.g. e-mails, internet, etc.).  They are holding a volunteer information session, Aug, 4th from 16 – 18.00 for people interested in helping refugees in our Basic Computer Literacy Program. The Program covers everything from how to set up an email, write professional emails, internet safety. In case you know anyone who might be interested, feel free to send them this announcement.

SIR is a not-for-profit company that actively supports the integration of refugees into German society. They design and deliver various programs and workshops that facilitate a connection between refugees and employers.

They view employment as one of the main drivers for integration. By working together, German nationals, refugees and immigrants, can overcome false pre-conceptions, particularly negative images shown by the media.  Working together also enhances the cultural and language learning experience.  Employment provides refugees with a path to become self-sufficient and to be a participant and contributor in the community.

Connecting refugees and employers is only one part of SIR’s activities. To help ensure sustainable employment, SIR provides individual and long-term support to refugees with an overall integration program that lasts about six months.
