Are you part of an American-German or American-European couple?  And are you planning to retire in Germany?  Or an American couple planning to retire in Germany?  If so and if you have yet to take action, you may need to start your estate planning now.

Given the numerous facets of US and German inheritance law combined with the complexity of German and US (federal and state) inheritance taxes, estate planning can be a quite challenging issue, requiring preparation soon … before it is too late.

Sponsored by AGBC Munich, this special meeting is geared to provide the participants a general understanding of the basic considerations involved in starting to plan estates in a fashion that optimizes the eventual transfer of one’s assets.  While the elements of an attendee’s special inheritance situation are not within the meeting focus, the panel inputs are targeted to spur the audience in starting to organize their thoughts so that they can afterwards seek specialist support.

We will meet on the mezzanine floor at the Marriott Hotel, Berlinerstr. 93, 80805.  Registration starts at 1845, the meeting punctually at 1900.  For the first 30 minutes, the panelists will provide general information on basic estate planning factors.  Then we will spend about one hour considering a straight-forward estate planning example for a typical bi-national couple, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.

Non-alcoholic beverages will be available. AGBC members may attend for free.  Other attendees are asked to contribute Eur 15 each to help cover our meeting and drink costs.  In addition to the AGBC, members from several other Munich international organizations will participate
